World Values Day 2023

World Values Day Workshop

Our school community came together on Thursday 12 th October to celebrate World Values Day. This year’s theme is “Values Bring us Together”. It amplifies the fact that we are all global citizens who come together around universal positive values. In a highly energetic and interactive workshop, families, students, and staff worked together to meet our aims of increased values awareness and activity. Putting our values into action and having many values conversations stimulated by our students’ work was the perfect way to broaden values awareness and engagement across the community.

Families of students in Years 1 to 3 kindly provided baked goods for a donation drive. On the day, they donated 16,639 baht to the Suan Dok Foundation for Patients in Financial Distress. Together with the school’s contribution, we reached a total of 20,000 baht! Year 2 students also performed a “Kindness Song” on the stage to celebrate our kindness month!

Students in Years 4 to 6 worked diligently on creating information displays. They shared their backgrounds from different nationalities and exchanged their cultures with classmates and visitors through outfits, food, languages, and pictures.

Our secondary students set up an Arts and Crafts station for everyone to enjoy and appreciate sustainable handmade arts.

As we reflect on this event, let’s remember that embracing and practising our values is not limited to a single day but is an ongoing journey towards making the world a better place. We look forward to continuing to foster these values in our school community throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this workshop.

World Values Day is observed every October. It’s a global event that encourages citizens worldwide to pause and reflect on their values, as well as to increase their awareness and practice of these values.
